The Cyprus-based prime broker EXANTE brought on Sergei Solomatin as Director of IT Operations, the latest in a string of senior hires aimed at updating its technology backbone.
EXANTE Adds IT Director
Solomatin will report to Chief Technology Officer Richard Forss and take charge of the company's hybrid infrastructure, cloud transformation, and automation projects, according to the press release shared by the company.
The 20-year IT veteran spent his career at Russian financial firms including FINAM, Home Credit and Finance Bank, and Svyaznoy Bank, where he handled large-scale technology overhauls.
His responsibilities at EXANTE span monitoring, production support, DevOps, service desk operations, infrastructure management, process automation, and IT project oversight.
Recent Executive Additions
The appointment follows several other hires this year. EXANTE added Robert Parker as Head of Risk in May, bringing the former Deutsche Bank executive's experience across credit, liquidity , operational, and market risk. Parker's role involves supporting the company's expansion into derivatives and options trading.
Before that, the company appointed Oscar Tsui as Hong Kong Regional Head to drive growth across East Asia. Tsui, who has over two decades in financial services, previously held positions at TDX Strategies, Aspen Digital, and RHB Banking Group.
The hiring spree reflects EXANTE's broader technology transformation program. The company operates across 50+ markets with more than one million tradable instruments, requiring sophisticated IT infrastructure to maintain performance and reliability.
Tech Push
“Sergei's appointment reflects our continued investment in building a world-class technology platform,” Forss said in a statement. “His leadership will be central to achieving the operational resilience, scalability , and efficiency targets that underpin EXANTE's global growth strategy.”
The prime broker has been expanding its geographic footprint alongside its technology investments. Last year, EXANTE opened a Dubai office in the International Financial Center to serve Middle Eastern clients. The company also maintains operations in Hong Kong and London as it builds out its institutional client base.
Solomatin worked in high-load IT environments at several Russian financial institutions during his two-decade career. At EXANTE, he'll oversee cloud transformation and automation projects as the company works to scale its operations for institutional clients.
