Jenny Zhao has left her position as Chief Executive Officer of Freetrade last month, only after three months in the role. She took up the role in late May, succeeding Freetrade co-founder Viktor Nebehaj.

London's trading industry is coming home!

Her replacement in the top role at the neobroker remains unclear.

“We can confirm that Jenny Zhao has decided to step down from her role as Chief Executive Officer of Freetrade," a Freetrade spokesperson told Finance Magnates. "We would like to thank Jenny for her contribution during her time with the business and wish her every success for the future. We will provide an update on our search for Jenny’s replacement in due course.”

Zhao took over as FreeTrade CEO, following a period of leadership change at the company after its co-founder, Viktor Nebehaj, announced in February that he would step down as CEO.

Zhao’s Career Spans Farewill, Bulb

She joined Freetrade after a nine-month sabbatical and advisory period. Zhao had previously spent about three and a half years at Farewill, where she held several senior leadership positions, including Managing Director of Legal Services and Chief Operating Officer. She was also a board director at the company.

Before joining Farewill, Zhao spent nearly five years at Bulb, where she held marketing and growth roles before becoming VP International. She earlier spent almost five years at Manning Gottlieb OMD, where she was a Client Director.

Freetrade Acquisition Expanded IG’s UK Presence

IG Group agreed to acquire Freetrade for £160 million, with the transaction financed from its existing capital. Freetrade was set to retain its standalone operations following the acquisition. The deal also expanded IG Group’s presence in the UK direct investment market and added to its trading and investment offering.
