Celsius Network, a cryptocurrency loan company headquartered in London, announced the appointment of Rod Bolger as the company’s new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) today.

In his new role, Bolger will be responsible for optimizing the company’s financial performance, ensuring compliance with global accounting standards and helping direct the firm’s growth strategy. In other words. Bolger will be expected to implement financial controls to continue safeguarding the company’s client assets and strengthen scalable frameworks that position the firm as a global leader in cryptocurrency.

Bolger brings over 30 years of work experience from leading financial institutions across the world including Bank of America, Citigroup and PWC, among others. Prior to joining Celsius, Bolger worked at RBC, Canada's largest bank, as CFO.

His in-depth understanding of how global financial firms operate will be crucial to Celsius' current growth stage and enable the company to expand with end-user security as a key priority. Bolger brings wide experience in M&A and IPO transactions to Celsius. His industry insights would enable Celsius to continue to position itself as the global leader in cryptocurrency lend and borrow services for institutional and retail clients.

Alex Mashinsky, the CEO of Celsius, said: "Celsius Network`s mission of bringing the next 100 million people to financial freedom on the Blockchain rails involves building a bridge between TradFi and CeFi as well as paving roads between the 200 different Blockchain 's that exist in the digital asset space. Bolger is not just a world class CFO but a master builder, which will be critically important as we grow Celsius and CelsiusX to lead the Crypto revolution and show the world that doing good, and then doing well, is the best business model."

Developing a Great Customer Experience

In recent years, Celsius Network has been beefing up its senior management team. Last month, the crypto firm hired Aslihan Denizkurdu as its Chief Operating Officer and Tushar Nadkarni as its Chief Growth and Product Officer to further the company’s commitment to ensure best-in-class experience and security for its community and clients.

In April 2021, Celsius suffered a cyber-attack that led to the firm’s third-party server and customer data being compromised, a portion of the firm's customer list being exfiltrated and a phishing email sent to its customers.

Bolger replaces Yaron Shalem, who was arrested in Tel Aviv in November last month in connection with massive crypto fraud in Israel. After the arrest, Celsius suspended the involved employee.
