CMC Markets (LON: CMCX) has kicked off 2025 with the announcement of several executive appointments at its Singapore hub, although most of the decisions were finalized last year. The brokerage firm has promoted Christopher Forbes to Head of Asia, unifying the role across three brands: CMC Markets, CMC Invest, and CMC Connect (its institutional arm).

Boosting Asian Leadership

Forbes, who assumed the role on September 1, 2024, was previously the Head of the Singapore entity operating the CMC Invest brand in the region.

“Christopher’s track record speaks volumes about his ability to grow and scale businesses while prioritising client experience,” said Lord Peter Cruddas, Founder and CEO of CMC Markets. “His leadership in Singapore has been a defining chapter for CMC, and we are excited to see him bring the same vision and energy to the broader Asia region.”

In addition to Forbes, CMC has also elevated Melissa Lwee-Ramsay to Head of Marketing for Asia and Daphne Tan to Business Development Director. Lwee-Ramsay has been part of CMC since mid-2022, while Tan joined the broker in February 2019.

Beyond the promotions, CMC has added Lee Jia Yi to its team as the Head of Distribution. She joined the broker's Singapore office from Axi, where she spent the last seven years, most recently as the Head of Sales for the Asia-Pacific region. This marks her second tenure at CMC, as she had worked with the broker earlier for about three years in a sales role.

CMC has also onboarded Annie Lai as a Sales Trader in its Singapore office. According to her LinkedIn profile, she joined the broker last October and brings nearly a decade of experience from companies such as Aquariux Fintech, LMAX Group, and FXCM.

Another key appointment is Ravinder Kaur, who, according to her LinkedIn profile, joined CMC Singapore in February 2024 as the Institutional Business Development Manager. She previously worked with IG Singapore, Haitong International Securities, Blackwell Global, and HSBC.
