Ethereum -based solutions provider, ConsenSys has announced the acquisition of the team and technology of Blockchain developer toolmaker, Truffle Suite. The company did not disclose the terms and conditions of the acquisition.

According to the official announcement, ConsenSys bought Truffle Suite to strengthen its lineup of Ethereum tools. ConsenSys users can now access built-in smart contract compilation and binary management.

Truffle was one of the first projects incubated by ConsenSys. It has grown rapidly since then and now over 1.3 million developers worldwide are using Truffle Suite. The acquisition of Truffle adds another product to the portfolio of ConsenSys which includes Quorum, Codefi, Infura and MetaMask.

Commenting on the acquisition, Joseph Lubin, founder of ConsenSys, said: “The Truffle Suite is essential for developers to get started on Ethereum and Web3, and is invaluable for increasing adoption of Mainnet applications and enterprise blockchain solutions alike. Truffle will often be a top-of-the-funnel for all our products and services since nearly all developers begin their smart contract development journey with the Truffle Suite. We are excited about further integrations with ConsenSys’ suite of developer tooling and applications.”

Ethereum Development Framework

Launched in 2015, Truffle is one of the most popular blockchain developer tools in the industry as it is designed to handle the entire workflow of blockchain developers including smart contract development and front-end application. The Truffle suite is comprised of Truffle Teams, Truffle, Ganache and Drizzle. “As the most popular Ethereum development framework, it is a natural fit for Truffle to be part of the ConsenSys product stack. We look forward to delivering enterprise-grade solutions that enable developers to build and deploy blockchain systems using Ethereum and across multiple blockchains,” Tim Coulter, Founder of Truffle, said in a statement.

Finance Magnates earlier reported about the launch of Ethereum-specific compliance solutions by ConsenSys in addition to the acquisition of Brooklyn-based blockchain company, Fluidity in May this year.
