An unknown type of issue has affected blockchain.info since about 3:14 GMT and prevents new transaction information data from appearing. In recent hours some users have started reporting across the community that they are experiencing strange behaviour with their transactions and can not track those. With this information at hand, it is worth reassuring the community that there is no reason to be worried as the website blockchain.info is not the block chain itself as some of the new users express their worries.

For now new transactions are not going to appear in blockchain.info and some alternatives are available at https://blockexplorer.com, https://blockr.io and http://bkchain.org. Transaction data on the blockchain remains unaffected, so there is no reason for worrying about transactions actually going through. Coincidentally there has been a selloff in Bitcoin early this morning, with prices currently hovering just above daily lows at $628.
Update 8:15 GMT: The website’s functionality is currently restored and it appears to be back to its normal mode of operation.
