BitPay Releases Multisig Copay App for Windows Phone

BitPay has announced its launch of the Copay multisig wallet app for the Windows phone. Until now, the app was only available for desktop web browsers, Android and iOS.

BitPay launched Copay in July, joining other wallet providers in moving toward multisig technology - which may soon become the new going standard for reliable storage. A multisignature wallet makes it far more difficult for a hacker to penetrate because multiple signatures have to be negotiated.

It is not every day that we hear of the availability of Bitcoin apps for the Windows phone. The launch perhaps underscores BitPay's vision that multisig technology will one day prove indispensable for the Bitcoin economy, and they have therefore proactively sought to make it available for as many platforms as possible.

BitPay is featuring its Copay service at this year's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas where visitors can demo the app.

Users are reminded that Copay is still in beta mode, so they should not use it for storing or sending large amounts.
