Close on the heels of its ICO that was launched at the beginning of August, Cloud With Me, a company that decentralizes cloud server technology, has announced that Jeff Pulver, the pioneer of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and serial entrepreneur, has been appointed to its advisory board.
Pulver brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge and is known to have played an important role in bringing about the worldwide acceptance of VoIP. The VoIP service now dominates the internet landscape as far as telephony is concerned.
Cloudwith.me is looking to decentralize cloud technology by making the unused space in each and every desktop, laptop and any device available for use. Those who allow space on their devices to be used are paid in tokens if it is used.
This way, cloud servers, which have been highly centralized, are now decentralized as space in the cloud is now available across a large number of devices, creating a win-win situation for all.
Asaf Zamir, Cloudwith.me’s co-founder and CTO, said: “Mr. Pulver is a valuable addition to our company and will be instrumental in helping us achieve our mission of bringing the cloud to ‘the rest of us. His experience is key in advising our management team by providing on-going strategies and breaking into the disruptive technologies market.”
Pulver commented: “Cloudwith.me’s ongoing vision to bring decentralized cloud services to the masses by involving the community from the beginning excites me. What’s most intriguing is its innovative way of driving that participation through the use of the Cloud token by offering access to the world’s largest cloud servers (Amazon Web Service and Microsoft Azure) at a significantly reduced cost. I have no doubt that Cloudwith.me will succeed in disrupting the cloud industry, as we know it today, and am thrilled to be a part of this revolution.”
Cloudwith.me also provides a service by which it simplifies the process of setting up a cloud server, thereby increasing efficiency for businesses and individuals.
Cloudwith.me hopes to use the experience and knowledge of Pulver to design its business strategy and bring in better corporate governance.
