Acromedia partners with Bitnet to enable bitcoin acceptance for its merchants

Acromedia, a provider of mobile engagement technology offering businesses a software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution for mobile e-commerce, has partnered with Bitnet, a Bitcoin payment processor, to enable bitcoin acceptance for its supported merchants.

Over the past year, there has been a trend of providers of e-commerce platforms partnering with bitcoin payment processors to enable the option for all of their clients. When it comes to the rate of increase of bitcoin adoption among merchants, this effectively kills many birds with one stone. In many cases, however, the merchants have to proceed to create their own accounts with the payment processor as well.

On Acromedia's dedicated Bitcoin page, the company advertised that bitcoin acceptance will help merchants add a new customer base. Alain Gendre, VP of Alliances at Bitnet, also said:

"Bitcoin is tailor-made for the Internet. No fraud, no risk, no borders, and lower fees than the most common current payment methods. And bitcoin acceptance is only going to grow; we're seeing merchants who are early adopters of bitcoin reporting that they've increased sales and added a new base of customers. We're excited to partner with Acromobile in providing merchants with the ability to accept bitcoin Payments ."

Payments made with bitcoin are converted immediately and merchants are paid in their local currency. Bitnet also says that it provides escrow services for high value items, secured by multi-sig technology.
