FlexTrade Drives Greater Strategy Development with New Backtesting Framework

FlexTrade Systems, a specialist in multi-asset execution and order management systems, today upgraded its EMS offering with a new framework for strategy development and large scale back-testing. The platform is powered by FlexTrade solution for data management and Analytics , and utilizes the global multi-asset class market history available through the company’s services.

Back-testing measures profitability as strategies are optimized to improve the quality of execution decisions. Historical data-sets provide 'what if' market conditions as strategy parameters are varied.

FlexTrade’s new solution offers a fully featured strategy development designed to gauge and adjust the performance of past trading strategies for real-time use in trading equities, FX and futures.

The back-testing framework encompasses the ability to replay past orders alongside market data and track the algo performance under various market conditions. It evaluates alpha or execution strategy logic against controlled market replay and compares strategy instances using pre-defined and custom statistical measures.

The new solution is currently available through the FlexTRADER product suite and FlexTrade’s order management solution, FlexOMS.

FlexTrade in a hiring spree

Global investment managers prefer the solution since the consolidation of equities, FX, listed options, futures, or any combination is essential on the same platform in order to ensure smooth functioning. The multi-asset execution management system can also be tailored for global access to broker algorithms, as well as the ability to build proprietary algorithms.

Additionally, FlexNOW offers access to leading market data providers whilst ‎‎easily integrating with any order management system (OMS) via FIX and ‎‎API. With the rollout of the new solution, buy-side firms will benefit from one-click ‎installation process and secure, over-the-internet connectivity that provides ‎easy access to brokers and Liquidity .‎

FlexTrade has been actively recruiting talent to its business development units. Earlier this year, the company hired Paul Alves as Senior Vice President of Global FX Business Development. Moreover, in an effort to improve its offerings for clients, FlexTrade recently partnered with BestX, implementing the BestX analytics solution into its FlexTRADER EMS.

Commenting on the new product, Vijay Kedia, President and CEO of FlexTrade, said: @One day’s worth of data can be back-tested in less than 30 seconds, while a full year’s worth of data can be back-tested in less than a day. It’s revolutionary in scope and simplifies the trading strategy development for the trader into a three-step process: first, build your strategy; second, test against past performance factors and adjust; and lastly, deploy.”
