FXCubic Becomes the Latest Route Into LMAX Perpetual Futures

  • Gold-i, MetaQuotes' Ultency and Spotware's cBridge each opened the same connection since December.
  • European retail clients face a 2-to-1 leverage ceiling on the product under rules ESMA restated in February.

FXCubic has connected its liquidity bridge to LMAX Group's perpetual futures markets, the two companies said today (Monday). Brokers running the FXCubic Bridge can now route orders to those contracts without building a direct connection to LMAX.

LMAX supplies perpetual futures across more than 20 markets, trading around the clock, with funding rates resetting every eight hours. It launched the product in September 2025 with BTC/USD and ETH/USD contracts advertised at up to 100:1 leverage for institutional traders.

How much of that leverage reaches a broker's own clients depends on where those clients sit. The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) told firms in February that perpetual futures meeting the definition of a contract for difference fall under EU CFD rules.

For retail crypto that means a leverage ceiling of 2:1, plus margin close-out rules and negative balance protection. Professional clients sit outside those caps, and the announcement says nothing about jurisdictions or client categories.

Gold-i, Ultency and cBridge Got There First

LMAX has been signing up the connectivity layer steadily. It integrated with Gold-i in December to reach that firm's broker network.

In February it adopted MetaQuotes' Ultency matching engine for institutional MT5 clients, and widened the range of contracts at the same time by adding 19 tokens to the perpetuals lineup.

Spotware's cBridge made the same connection on August 3, routing the feed into MT4, MT5 and FIX API setups that retail brokers already run. FXCubic follows six weeks later.

Jenna Wright, Managing Director of Digital Assets at LMAX Group, said the arrangement lets brokers connect and execute "as institutional demand for digital asset derivatives continues to grow."

FXCubic Keeps Adding Names to Its Liquidity Roster

The FXCubic Bridge aggregates prices, routes orders and handles execution and risk for FX and CFD brokers. The pitch is consolidation, with liquidity providers and trading platforms reachable from one environment.

FXCubic has built that roster through a run of integrations since 2020, among them Advanced Markets, CoinAPI and Refinitiv. The release names no contracts.

The company was founded in 2016 and operates out of London and Cyprus. Banyan Software, which acquires software companies and holds them, bought it in November 2023.

Wassim Khateeb, the company's chief commercial officer, said brokers are looking to "broaden their product offering and respond to growing client demand for digital asset markets."

LMAX has taken the product beyond crypto since launch, adding a gold perpetual in February that quotes XAU/USD through weekends. The connection is live now, according to the announcement.
