Technology and liquidity provider Currenex has become the latest company to move its North America matching engine to Equinix in New York. The NY6 facility has become the new home of the company’s solution that aims to deliver deep pools of liquidity for both anonymous and disclosed trading.
The move is a continuation of the broad efforts of the company to update its matching engine locations across the world. Currenex has already launched its new locations in London and Tokyo in cooperation with Equinix, whose data center locations have become the industry’s standard.

Previously the matching engine in North America was located in Piscataway, New Jersey. With the relocation to the Equinix NY6 data center, the institutional matching engine of Currenex has become the primary production environment for the company’s North American institutional client base.
With the reduction of the distance between the company’s clients, who are widely domiciled in the New York facilities of Equinix, the Currenex platform has become a viable alternative for North American clients who are aiming to cut short the access latency. The NY6 located matching engine has direct cross connects to the other major facility used by some FX players – Equinix NY4.
