ThinkMarkets, a London and Melbourne-headquartered multi-asset online broker, has upgraded its in-house trading platform, ThinkTrader Web. The software upgrade covered four important categories, including the user interface.

ThinkTrader Upgrade

According to the ThinkMarkets announcement published on Thursday, ThinkTrader Web users can now change the component's view, monitor the newest market news, prepare their strategy using the full economic calendar and contact the client support team directly from the platform.

Due to the user interface update, ThinkTraders Web allows traders to reorganize and resize particular windows, tailoring them to individual needs. The direct access to multiple communication platforms, such as live chat and social media, also seems an essential update to the previous version of ThinkMarket's trading environment.

ThinkMarkets offers its clients access to the MetaTrader 4 and 5 platforms from desktop computers while providing the web and mobile versions of its proprietary ThinkTrader platform. It offers dynamic charting, accessible trades, a user guide, access to 120 indicators and 50 drawing tools, and 19 types of charts. Users can set up to 200 cloud-based alerts and receive real-time trading signals regarding over 4,000 instruments.

ThinkMarkets Introduces New Security Layer

Last week the retail FX and CFD trading services provider introduced a new security feature to help its users prevent or detect fraudulent calls, which are becoming increasingly common. The broker added a one-time password (OTP) verification and clarified that their customers can utilize the new feature to request an OTP from anyone claiming to be from ThinkMarkets. The trader can confirm the caller's authenticity by entering the OTP into their ThinkPortal account.

"With fraudulent calls becoming common among online traders, the security of your information is paramount to us. If you receive a call from a representative of ThinkMarkets, you now have the option of requesting an OTP from the caller. Upon this request, an OTP will be sent via SMS, which you can then input into ThinkPortal to validate the caller," ThinkMarkets explained.

ThinkMarkets has incorporated various features into its platform over the past few months to enhance its retail FX and CFDs offerings. In June of last year, the broker unveiled its intention to introduce the web version of ThinkTrader, the same one that was upgraded today.

Personnel Changes at ThinkMarkets

The institutional arm of ThinkMarkets, Liquidity.net, has promoted Tim Rudland, who was previously its Liquidity Manager, to Head of Institutional Trading. Rudland has about 20 years of trading and institutional sales experience in mostly London-based roles.

In the meantime, ThinkMarkets' long-running Chief Financial Officer, Harshad Kale, parted from the Australia-headquartered trading provider after spending nine years at the firm. According to his LinkedIn profile, Kale joined Cavendish Renewable Technology, a renewable energy firm.

ThinkMarkets also made two personnel changes last October. First, Alexander Kolchev was promoted to Chief Technology Officer after holding the Director of Technology of Europe position for two years. The broker then hired Chantelle Lea, a marketing executive with over a decade of industry experience, as its Marketing Manager.
