BtcDana has secured a Category 5 licence from the UAE Capital Market Authority, allowing its local entity to conduct introduction and promotion activities.

London's trading industry is coming home!

BtcDana joins several international brokers that have obtained similar licences in the UAE. Vantage and Blueberry Markets received Category 5 approvals in July this year, followed by BitDelta later that month. Moneta Markets secured the same licence in August.

BtcDana Gets UAE Approval for Client Introductions

The licence falls under the CMA's Arrangement and Advice category. It allows BtcDana's UAE entity to promote financial services and introduce prospective clients to affiliated trading firms, but not to provide brokerage services or execute trades directly. The affiliated entities operate under their respective regulatory frameworks.

Peter Chow, Founder of BtcDana, said the licence provides the company with "a clearly defined framework for conducting Introduction and Promotion activities in the local market."

Founded in 2019, BtcDana says it serves more than 1.5 million active traders. Its platform offers more than 300 Contracts for Difference across forex , metals, indices and commodities, alongside mobile and desktop trading services.

The authorisation applies specifically to BtcDana's UAE entity and does not extend to its affiliated trading firms.

UAE CMA Reports 43% Licensing Growth

The CMA reported a 43% year-on-year increase in licensed companies in October. Its public register listed 28 firms authorised for over-the-counter derivatives and spot forex trading, up from 11 at the end of 2024.

The regulator also reported AED 1.2 billion in client refunds during the first nine months of 2026, compared with AED 8 million a year earlier. The figures were part of its first nine-month update since replacing the Securities and Commodities Authority on 1 January 2026.
