IG Prime, the institutional arm of IG Group, has signed Investec Prime Services as a partner for its white-label trading platform in South Africa.

Investec keeps its own brand. IG supplies the trading technology, execution , analytics and risk tools behind it, covering derivatives on equities , indices, FX, commodities and fixed income.

London's trading industry is coming home!

The partnership gives IG a local channel in South Africa after it shut its local rand-denominated retail accounts in mid-2025. It now reaches the market through a local bank's institutional desk rather than its own retail brand.

A Bank Brand on IG Technology

IG Prime launched the white-label service in September 2025 with an unnamed international banking group as its first client, targeting the hedge fund clients of banks.

In its May trading update, IG said it had launched the institutional white-label offering that month and onboarded its first partner, without naming it.

Babita Ittoo Devillers, managing director of IG Prime, said interest from prospective partners gave the firm "real confidence in the scale of the opportunity ahead."

Investec's South African clients get access to about 19,000 instruments that IG lists globally, including roughly 12,000 single stocks, according to the announcement. The package includes 24/5 trading in selected equity markets and weekend trading in index and FX markets.

Investec Prime Services is a unit of Investec Bank Limited and offers execution, custody, clearing and securities lending to hedge funds, corporates and other institutions, according to its website.

Institutional Revenue Beyond Retail CFDs

IG has been widening its revenue base beyond leveraged retail trading. It completed the purchase of Australian crypto exchange Independent Reserve in January, and lists Freetrade and tastytrade alongside IG Prime among its brands.

IG reported record revenue of GBP 1.12 billion for 2025, and investors will hear more at a strategy update in London on October 22.
