IG Group, a financial broker listed in London, recently announced that the company has formed a partnership with Teach for Australia (TFA), the Australia-based not-for-profit organization with a focus to address education inequality in the country.

According to an official announcement by TFA, IG Group will support different programs of the Australian organization. The latest collaboration with TFA is part of IG’s international Brighter Future initiative in which the broker is focusing on different ESG activities.

In 2020, IG Group and the UK-based education charity, Teach Fund launched a £2M education fund to support schools serving deprived communities where young people’s education has been severely interrupted by the Coronavirus pandemic.

Commenting on the latest initiative, Melodie Potts Rosevear, CEO of TFA, said: “We are so grateful to come together with IG Group for this new partnership. Great teachers and school leaders make a vital difference in the lives of our young people and can help close the education disadvantage gap. We warmly welcome IG Group to our TFA community.”

In addition to the recent ESG activities, IG Group has increased its sponsorship activities since the start of 2021. In May 2021, the financial services provider signed a sponsorship deal with the national cricket team of England. Also, IG Group reported strong financial numbers for Q3 of FY21 including a jump of nearly 65% in revenue.

Brighter Future

IG Group’s global Brighter Future initiative allocated a substantial amount for different ESG activities in 2020. “The Covid-19 global pandemic is having a devastating impact on a global scale. As so often is the case in times of crisis, it is the most vulnerable members of our communities that suffer disproportionately. Driven by a strong desire to support our communities in their time of need, IG took swift action and committed £5 million from our profit before tax for the 2020 financial year to the IG Brighter Future Fund,” IG mentioned on the official page of Brighter Future initiative.

“IG’s Brighter Future initiative was created to further our commitment to our people, our customers and our communities. It seeks to empower members of our communities through equal access to education and social mobility,” Kevin Algeo, CEO of APAC at IG, said in the latest announcement.
