Revolut’s CFD Trading Launch Lead Departs as Head of Wealth & Trading After 3 Years

Sergei Riabov announced his departure from Revolut on LinkedIn today (Friday). He served at the company for almost three years, most recently as the Head of Wealth & Trading.

Riabov wrote: “After almost 3 incredible years at Revolut, it’s time for me to step away. I’m proud of what we’ve built—a fast-scaling, international brokerage business that now helps millions invest smarter.”

Revolut’s Wealth Product Head Launches CFDs

Before holding this position, Riabov was Revolut’s Head of Product for Wealth & Trading. He was based in London during this time. His role included setting product strategy and overseeing operations across the UK, EU, and other international markets such as Singapore, Australia, and the US.

At Revolut, Riabov managed ten cross-functional product teams. He introduced several new offerings, including contracts for difference (CFDs), a robo-advisor, and access to securities in the EU and UK. The product suite also expanded to include ETFs and bonds. Additionally, a subscription plan was launched for experienced traders, providing access to advanced tools and lower commissions. Infrastructure improvements were made to handle a threefold increase in trading activity.

Former Tinkoff Head Launches Investor Network

Before joining Revolut, Riabov worked at Tinkoff in Moscow for over five years. He served as Head of Product. He built multiple product teams catering to a wide range of investors and helped Tinkoff Investments become the leading brokerage in Russia by active customers.

Earlier at Tinkoff, he held the role of Lead Product Manager. He led the launch of Pulse, a social network for investors, and developed advanced trading features such as margin and futures trading. He also worked on user experience improvements aimed at converting beginners into active traders.

Riabov also led the Android development team for Tinkoff’s retail investment platform. His efforts helped improve development efficiency and supported the platform’s early growth.

Prior to his time at Tinkoff, Riabov was the Founder and Product Owner of Evolucio, a role he held for nearly six years. Riabov has not yet shared what his next role will be.
