Pepperstone, a global Forex and CFDs broker, has announced the appointment of Dianah Njeri Igati as the Regional Head of Compliance for the Australia, UAE, Asia-Pacific, LATAM, Middle-East, and Bahamas regions. Igati will be responsible for overseeing the regulatory compliance and AML/CFT risk compliance functions under the Australian Securities & Investment Commission, Dubai Financial Services Authority, Securities Commission of The Bahamas, and the Financial Services Commission (Mauritius).

Extensive Compliance and Legal Expertise

With an extensive background in compliance and legal roles, Igati brings a wealth of experience to her new position. Before joining Pepperstone, she served as the General Counsel, Chief Compliance & MLRO at Scope Markets of Kenya for over four years where she played a crucial role in the development and implementation of the company's governance, operational, and compliance procedures.

In her previous role as the Head of Compliance and Money Laundering Reporting Officer at EGM Securities, Igati demonstrated her expertise in monitoring and implementing controls for money laundering, fraud, and terrorism finance. She actively engaged in negotiations, policy reviews, conducted extensive research, and provided legal advice across various inter-functional project workstreams and general project management.

In addition to her corporate roles, Igati has been serving as a Committee Member on the Professional Development Committee at The Institute of Certified Secretaries since September 2021.

Pepperstone's Strategic Move with Geelong Cats Partnership

Earlier, Finance Magnates reported that Pepperstone strengthened its sports presence by partnering with Geelong Cats, a prominent Australian Football League (AFL) team. The Melbourne-based agency, Bastion, facilitated the deal, making Pepperstone the official online trading partner of Geelong Cats. The sponsorship signifies Pepperstone's commitment to the AFL community and aligns with their Australian heritage.

In contrast to the prevalent trend of brokers associating with European football, Pepperstone's move highlights a shift towards supporting local sports teams. The financial services industry, particularly forex and CFD brokers, traditionally invested heavily in European football, with $125 million spent on football deals during the 2020-21 season, as reported by Sportsquake.
