Travelex Secures Mark Freedman as Its New Chief Financial Officer

Travelex announced that it has secured Mark Freedman as its new Chief Financial Officer, effective 31 January 2022.

In a press release from RNS, the news service of the London Stock Exchange shared with Finance Magnates, Mark Freeman, a financial executive veteran with almost thirty years of experience, has been selected by Travelex, a currency service provider, as its new Chief Financial Officer.

Freedman brings in excess of twenty-eight years of experience in leadership roles from the finance industry. He has proven his worth leading large high performing teams across multiple financial disciplines.

Freedman's Vocational Record

Prior to this appointment, LSEG (London Stock ExchangeGroup) recruited Freedman as its Group Financial Controller. Over the period of seven and a half years, he led a global team of over 300 people in the UK, Italy, US and Sri Lanka, reporting directly to the Group CFO, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Earlier on, he served Deutsche Bank for more than two decades. He took on a number of roles, which included Head of CIB reporting, Head of European Equities Business Control and Director of Fin Con between 1994 and 2010. Then, the German bank elevated him to the pinnacle position of UK Chief Financial Officer in August 2010. He spent almost four years navigating a 200 strong team. Further, he was responsible for financial, regulatory, management and statutory reporting for the UK region and 15 other countries.

His earliest known place of employment was in Audit and Tax and KMPG UK which began in the autumn of 1989.
