Swissquote has hired former professional ice hockey player Daniel Vukovic as the broker’s Junior Client Relationship Manager. Announced on Wednesday, he has already joined the Swiss broker.
“We are very proud that Daniel Vukovic has decided to join Swissquote for the 2nd chapter of his career,” said Muamar Behnam, Director and Head of Sales HQ at Swissquote Bank. “We hope that our new Junior Relationship Manager will be as successful with us than he was during the thirteen years spent on the ice hockey rinks of Geneva and Rapperswil.”
While brokers usually onboard athletes as brand ambassadors, Vukovic joined Swissquote in a completely different capacity. Moreover, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Michigan State University that makes him perfect to start a new career in the financial industry.
Leaving the Field
He started his hockey career on the ice field in college and later turned pro after completing his graduation.

He spent 11 years of his hockey career with Swiss club Genève-Servette HC, where he won multiple titles and became a popular face. In March 2019 he signed a contract with SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers and played for the club until his recent retirement.
“As a young kid from Canada my dream was to play in the NHL,” Vukovic wrote on a Linkedin post. “Coming over to Switzerland 13 years ago I thought it was the next best thing. It ended up being my dream and more. I had the opportunity to meet the love of my life, have a family and play hockey professionally for 13 years. While there were memorable wins, losses, goals, block shots and injuries, I will always be most proud that I left everything I had on the ice.”
“The time of game-day naps and 20 coffees has come to an end but I am excited for the next chapter.”
Meanwhile, Swissquote is preparing for a massive expansion of its product line and will add several CFDs and crypto instruments. Furthermore, Finance Magnates reported that the company will have some structural changes in Europe.
