Digital Vega announced this Wednesday that it has appointed Rob Wemyss as a Non-Executive Director and Head of Business Development, in order to support its global expansion strategy and product development.

Digital Vega operates a foreign exchange (forex) options electronic trading platform. The company also provides forex options trading solutions. Wemyss joins the company from JP Morgan, having worked with the United States bank for more than two decades.

During his 25 years with the multinational investment bank, Wemyss worked in a number of roles. Most recently, he was the Global Head of FX Options. He was also a Managing Director at the company.

Commenting on the appointment, Mark Suter, Executive Chairman and Co-Founder, Digital Vega said in a statement: "During 2020 we aim to cement our leading position in multi-dealer FX Options trading by adding more Liquidity providers and clients, increasing automation in our Vanillas platform and launching a new Exotics service."

Digital Vega continues hiring spree

In recent months Digital Vega has been expanding its team in order to support its expansion plans. As Finance Magnates reported, towards the end of last year, the company made three senior appointments.

The three appointments were Simon Nursey, who joined as the Head of Asia, Asa Attwell, who was named as the Head of Product Development, and taking on the role of EMEA Relationship Manager was Laura Winkler.

Speaking on his new role, Rob Wemyss added: "Transparency, automation and workflow efficiency are driving the market increasingly towards trading FX Options electronically. Digital Vega is already considered the market leader, and by investing in new products and services we expect to capture future market growth.”
