ConsenSys, a blockchain technology solutions provider, announced the expansion of its team today with the appointment of Sarah Friar, the former Chief Financial Officer at Square, as the newest member of its Board.

In her new role, Sarah will work closely with other members of the board to accelerate the expansion of ConsenSys. The newly appointed Board Member will advise the blockchain firm on Web3-related issues and its business operations.

The recent news from ConsenSys has come on the back of strong growth in the past few months. In March 2022, the blockchain company topped the valuation of $7 billion after the closure of a $450 million funding round.

Joe Lubin, the Founder and CEO of ConsenSys, mentioned that the recent appointment of Sarah will play an important role in the company’s growth. “We are delighted to welcome Sarah to our Board. She is not only a recognized leader having been in a number of senior management positions at listed corporates and technology firms, but she also has distinctive expertise and a passion for community building,” Lubin said.

Board

The Board of ConsenSys consists of some of the leading names in the financial services sector, including Robert Boroujerdi (the Managing Director, ThirdPoint), Umar Farooq (the CEO, Onyx by JP Morgan), and Michael Kriak (the Managing Operating Partner, ConsenSys Mesh). According to the blockchain technology solutions provider, Friar's experience will be a great asset to its Board.

Additionally, Friar is a Board Member of Walmart. “I am thrilled to take on this position with ConsenSys. At Nextdoor, I have found that people increasingly want to reknit the social fabric in a world where megatrends are pushing people further and further apart. I am passionate about working on something that, done well, can start to change the dynamics of the world,” Sarah commented on her appointment.
