CME Group has expanded its international client development and sales efforts with a new senior appointment, bringing in Stefan Lucas to take on a key role within its international marketing team for the Europe, the Middle East, and Africa region.
Lucas will be responsible for developing and executing CME Group’s sales strategy and growing its client base throughout the EMEA, according to information made public on his Linkedin profile.
Stefan has more than 12 years of experience in trading and sales roles across various financial institutions, and he joins the world’s largest futures exchange operator from Fadata Group which offers insurance process platform and digital solutions.

Lucas has been an FX mainstay for nearly a decade, having worked in a multitude of roles at several leading brokers and firms. His most recent foray into the FX space was working as ThinkForex’s Group Head of Marketing for more than two years. Stefan initially joined the London branch of ThinkForex back in September 2014 until he departed in 2016 – during this tenure, his main tasks entailed the steering and development of the group’s global marketing ambitions.
He also worked in a number of roles across both sales and marketing, building upon his vast experience including the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), Asia-Pacific (APAC), and US realms.
Before joining ThinkForex Global Markets, which rebranded to ThinkMarkets in 2016, Lucas has held a number of senior-level marketing and FX positions at notable stops such as IG Group, Alpari Group, Merrill Lynch, and CMC Markets.
