Bitton who joined Citi from UniCredit as a senior director in equity finance and Delta One trading in 2012 departed Citi in June.

The bank is reported to have been looking to strengthen its Equities franchise by sourcing talent from other banks and building up its prime brokerage and bespoke equity derivatives businesses to cater more to hedge fund clients.

Equities trading chief Derek Bandeen, who had been helping to spearhead Citi's equities push, retired from the bank in April.

Citi Group has seen a number of comings and goings over the last year, most recently with longtime group veteran Duncan Phillips from its Debt Capital Markets (DCM) unit who, as reported by Finance Magnates, left the group at the end of August after a period of almost fifteen years to take up a job with a Fintech group.
