Mateo Cassina, Former CEO of Saxo Capital Markets
Trading software consultancy company Adaptive has added a trio of experts to its board of directors - Matteo Cassina, Yann L’Huillier and Janhavi Dadakar. The reshuffling of the company's leadership team comes amid the firm's continuing expansion.
Adaptive was founded in 2012 by Matt Barrett, John Marks, Olivier Deheurles and Loïc Rozé, and the team ventured into the technological aspects of trading systems. The addition of new members to the board brings a wider range of perspectives to the company’s team.
The new board members are part of a refocusing of efforts at Adaptive. The company’s founders have all transitioned to c-level roles with Barrett serving as CEO, Marks and Rozé as co-COOs and Deheurles becoming the CTO of the firm.
Matteo Cassina’s Role
Matteo Cassina
Matteo Cassina has been actively involved in the financial industry over the past 20 years with senior roles at a number of big banks. He most recently held the role of CEO of Saxo Capital Markets UK until October of last year. During his vibrant career Cassina also worked at BNP Paribas, Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch.
Before joining Saxo Bank, he was also President of Citadel Securities and served on the boards of Nasdaq Europe and Boerse Berlin. Commenting on his appointment, Cassina said: “As Adaptive continues to expand, I will be looking to provide key strategic advice on how to structure the key business lines.”
Tradition CIO L’Huillier
The CIO of interdealer broker Tradition, Yann L'Huillier is another experienced addition to the team. He will help in the development of an internal strategy to commoditise and license the company’s technology to its clients and assist the it to finalise its technology architecture and go-to market strategy.
Aside from trading software, L’Huillier has been Chairman of the Board at Enyx, a company specialising in hardware acceleration. Before joining Tradition he was CIO of Turquoise Trading where he worked on the company’s multilateral trading facility.
“The importance of understanding how technology should be used, sold and deployed will be an important aspect of Adaptive’s growth strategy,” commented L’Huillier.

Janhavi Dadarkar is joining the company’s board as chairwoman. With a slew of experience in governance, strategy and risk mitigation, she comes with vast experience as a corporate lawyer. Commenting on her new role at Adaptive, she said: “It’s great to be joining Adaptive at this stage as the founding team have already built a dynamic company with a strong proposition."
