Bitfury Group, a Bitcoin mining giant and blockchain transactions processing company, has officially marked its expansion into Korea’s Blockchain market, by announcing the appointment of Eun Chul Lee to head its Korea operations today.

Lee is a technology expert, a seasoned IT manager and interestingly, a former Olympic gold medal winner. As Head of Korea, he will build business relationships in the country’s growing blockchain industry.

For more than 18 years, Lee has been the Korea country manager for various Silicon Valley firms such as WindRiverSystem, IP Infusion, Treasure Data, and Clustrix Inc. During his career, he has also founded two companies - SiliconValleyTech and IntelR.

At present, Lee is a member of Emercoin’s technical advisory council. In this role, he supports Emercoin Blockchain technology through promotion. Furthermore, Lee also helps to identify pilot projects that will improve the company’s systems and services.

As mentioned above, not only has Lee had an impressive business career, he is also a former Olympian. During his sporting career, he represented Korea in five consecutive Olympic games. In 1992, he won a gold medal for rifle shooting in Barcelona.
