Binance Hires a New Head of Intelligence and Investigations APAC

Recently, Binance has named Jarek Jakubcek as its new Head of Intelligence and Investigations for Asia-Pacific (APAC). As stated in the press release, Jakubcek will lead Binance’s efforts and coordinate the takedown of malicious actors in the crypto world in conjunction with law enforcement agencies in APAC.

The new Head of Intelligence and Investigations is an expert in cybercrime and a former cryptocurrency specialist in Europol’s Cybercrime Centre’s (EC3) Dark Web team. During his seven years at EC3, Jakubcek supported major crypto investigations from an operational and strategic perspective. On top of that, he was the leader of the world’s largest cryptocurrency experts’ platform that included representatives from hundreds of law enforcement agencies worldwide.

Amana Expands Team with New Leadership Appointments

Amana Capital announced that it has onboarded Matt Carstens as the new Director of Product Experience in an effort to develop its product portfolio and propel its digital transformation. Also, the company has appointed Justin Biebel as the Director of Product Implementation.

Carstens is an industry veteran with approximately twenty years of experience in the corporate sector. In his new role, Carstens will lead the product function and design of the Amana App.

Joshua Eaton Becomes New Binance Deputy General Counsel

On Wednesday, Binance appointed Joshua Eaton as its first Deputy General Counsel. During his tenure, Eaton plans to support global  compliance  , investigations and law enforcement coordination.

Over the course of his career, Eaton has represented the US Department of Justice (DOJ) and also served in the US Army. Additionally, Eaton provided guidance to presidentially-appointed US Attorneys across the country as well as US Army commanders while serving abroad. Further, Eaton provided advice on operations, investigations, litigation, policies and programs spanning a wide spectrum of US federal and international law enforcement and operational issues.

Amana Capital Promotes Fayez Alkhouli to Sales VP

Amana Capital promoted Fayez Alkhouli as the new VP of Sales. He joined the company last year as a Senior Sales Executive and is based in Dubai.

The appointment came after the broker had already added a few big industry names to enhance its leadership. Most recently, Amana had hired an advertising and marketing specialist, Joy Dabeet as the company’s new Chief Marketing Officer. In addition, it had onboarded Mani Sahota in March as the Chief Information Officer.

On Wednesday, IS Prime announced the appointment of Ben Robinson as the Head of Marketing, which is a newly created role.

Advanced Markets Group Promotes Mina Zakaria to Global Head of Sales Conversion

Mina Zakaria has been promoted to Global Head of Sales Conversion at Advanced Markets Group, according to his LinkedIn profile. He has been with the company since September last year as the Director of Sales Conversion.

Prior to his new position at Advanced Markets, Zakaria held several roles at SquaredFinancial for over one year, first working as Sales Manager and then as Head of MENA Region. He ended his time at Advanced Markets as the Acting Head of Sales Manager.

Also, the executive completed a short tenure in FXDD as the Senior Regional Business Development Manager at the broker FXDD. Though, he spent more than four years at ForexTime (FXTM) where he began as an Account Service Representative and later moved on to the role of Service Account Manager. After that, he worked for almost two years as a Senior Account Manager.

Anargyros Garyfalos Becomes Co-CIO of XM

XM.com announced the promotion of Anargyros Garyfalos, an industry veteran with in excess of twenty years of experience in the financial services industry, to the position of Co-CIO.

He has been working with XM since 2017. In his new role, Garyfalos will facilitate XM to fulfil its mission of global expansion. On Monday, Bitstamp announced the appointment of JB Graftieaux as the new global Chief Executive Officer. He will replace Julian Sawyer who departed recently 'to pursue other opportunities'.

Before taking up the apex role, Graftieaux held the position of CEO at Bitstamp in Europe. Before re-joining the European crypto  exchange  in May 2021, he served as its Chief Compliance Officer from 2014 to 2016.
