Mr. Harrison takes over the role of CTO from Eero Pikat, who has been promoted to President of Barchart, and will now shift his attention toward the development of technology architecture as well as new technologies and R&D.

Mr. Pikat commented on his replacement: “With his track record in the Fintech and market data industries, and his proven ability to build successful products at leading companies, Chris is the perfect choice for us to bring on as Barchart’s new CTO.”

Responsibilities of the New Role

As part of his new role with Barchart, Mr. Harrison will be responsible for the comprehensive technological offerings for the company's overall operations. More specifically, he will manage the operations pertaining to data feeds, digital solutions, APIs and software, as well as managing product development and overseeing the engineering unit of the company.

Commenting on his newest role, Mr. Harrison said: “What made the Barchart CTO role so appealing was their innovative product lines, a super dynamic culture and the transformational way in which they attack a highly commoditized marketplace.”

Industry Background

Mr. Harrison has acquired a vast industry background over the years. He began his career with FutureSource, working his way to become SVP of Product Management, before parting ways with the company in 2002. He then spent the next 8 years at CVH Reese, where he served as CEO, gaining experience at the top levels of a company.

In February of 2012, Mr. Harrison joined GlobalView Software, a company that provides data management solutions for the commodity industry. For nearly 4 years, he again took the familiar role of SVP of Product Management, before becoming the company’s Executive Vice President in December of 2013.

However, just 4 months after taking that position, he took on a different role as Chief Product Officer, a role that is critical to the success of any software company. He then took on the role of SVP of Engineering for Drillinginfo, which acquired GlobalView in October of 2016.

Barchart has been able to establish its name within the industry. As part of its expansionary efforts, the company made some moves in recent years, including its partnership with DataStreamX. The company’s newest addition will surely attempt to guide the company forward, by implementing his knowledge and expertise acquired over an extensive career.
