Jeremy Schlachter has joined AvaTrade as Chief Financial Officer after leaving the same position at The NAGA Group in August, bringing experience across retail brokerage, B2B trading infrastructure and corporate transformation.

Schlachter announced the move in a LinkedIn post on Sunday, saying he would work with the team to support AvaTrade’s “continued growth and ambitions.”

Experience Spans Brokerage and B2B Infrastructure

Schlachter joined NAGA’s management team in 2025 and served as CFO during the listed fintech group’s integration of CAPEX.com and efforts to reduce operating costs.

Before NAGA, he was Group CFO of Finalto, the B2B liquidity and trading technology provider previously owned by Playtech. He had earlier served as Vice President of Finance at Playtech and later as CFO of gaming technology company Skywind Group.

His background gives AvaTrade a finance executive familiar with the economics of retail brokerage, institutional trading infrastructure and businesses undergoing corporate transformation.

Schlachter succeeds Sari Hemmendinger, who spent about 11 years at AvaTrade. According to her LinkedIn profile, she joined the broker as Vice President of Finance before becoming Group CFO.

AvaTrade Considers Acquisition and Reshapes European Footprint

The appointment comes as AvaTrade considers expansion through a potential acquisition while adjusting parts of its European operations.

In June, Finance Magnates reported that AvaTrade had submitted an offer to acquire Stratos, the Jefferies-owned operator of the FXCM and Tradu brands. A cryptocurrency exchange had reportedly submitted a competing bid. No transaction has been announced.

More recently, AvaTrade decided to close its Polish branch almost six years after opening the local office. Polish clients and partners are expected to remain supported through the broker’s international operations.

AvaTrade has not identified Schlachter’s immediate priorities. His appointment nevertheless brings experience in acquisitions, business integration and trading infrastructure to the finance function as the broker weighs its next phase of expansion.
