Mr. Chan will be succeeding John Tan, who became the CEO for Standard Chartered’s Taiwan branch on April 1. In his new role as Head of Financial Markets, Mr. Chan will help manage FX, equities, commodities and other asset classes.
Furthermore, he will be reporting to May Tan, chief executive officer for Hong Kong, and Gene Kim, regional head of financial markets for Greater China and Northeast Asia. Mr. Chan joins Standard Chartered from China Citic Bank, where he held a number of senior level roles. He has also held positions at HSBC and Dah Sing Bank.
