The London Stock Exchange Group (LON:LSE) reported that it has appointed Chris Corrado as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO), doubling as Chief Information Officer (CIO), a 30-year veteran who previously served as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at banking majors including Morgan Stanley, Deutsche Bank and Merrill Lynch.

The appointment comes into effect as of today, with Corrado coming from his latest gig at MSCI, the global provider of market indices and equity portfolio analysis tools. At his latest job, Corrado was in charge of technology, data services and program management. Also citing the LSE’s press release that he has served as managing director, CTO and CIO for the last two years.

Corrado to Replace Shagoury, Enter Executive Committee

At the London Stock Exchange he will be replacing Antoine Shagoury, who has spent five years with the LSE as COO and CIO, as well as being a member of the Executive Committee. Shagoury will be leaving by the end of the year to the US. Corrado will also become member of the Executive Committee of the company.

The Group expects to benefit from Corrado’s experience as it continues to diversify business

Commenting on the new appointment, LSE’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Xavier Rolet, said, "I'm confident the Group will benefit from Chris' deep experience as we continue to diversify our business and grow our global footprint."

"Our technology platform provides resilient, high-speed trading platforms, real time market data, clearing and settlement systems, among a broad range of infrastructure products and services - not only to our own markets, but to a wide range of global customers, including banks, specialist trading firms and more than 40 exchanges and trading venues around the world."
