Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ) Ltd has strengthened its retail distribution strategy division by adding longtime McDonald’s executive Catriona Noble, according to an ANZ statement.

In her new role at ANZ as its Managing Director of Retail Distribution, she will be tasked with leading the retail channel distribution strategy across the group’s 800 branches, as well as its mobile sales force. Moreover, Ms. Noble will be responsible for fostering ANZ's relationships with a customer base five million strong million.

Ms. Noble served as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of McDonalds Australia for over four years dating back to 2010. She helped steer the group’s business in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) ) region, Middle East, and Africa over her tenure.

According to ANZ chief Mark Whelan in a recent statement on the appointment, “This is not a business as usual appointment. Catriona’s energy, her people skills and retail experience will bring a strong focus to improving the way we serve our customers across our retail network."

Just last week, ANZ appointed Alan Roch as its newest Head of Asia Debt syndicate, who joined the lender from the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS). Previously he worked as its Singapore-based Managing Director and Head of Bond syndicate in the APAC region. The move was predated by an earlier stint at RBS in which he headed the Bond syndicate for CEEMEA (Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa) prior to 2011.
