OpenBazaar has launched its Beta 1.0, available for Linux and OSX. Beta 2.0, available for Windows, is planned for launch in one month.
The software is a p2p marketplace integrating Tor. Payments are made exclusively with Bitcoin.
The current beta version is meant more for testing and finding bugs than for actual use: “There will be bugs; real bitcoin could be lost.” It is not meant for everyone, and the platform “is far from being complete.” Large transactions are therefore discouraged.

Instructions are provided on how to install the software, which involves entering commands in the command prompt.
Even though the current platform isn’t yet intended for full-fledged e-commerce, users will still have the opportunity to be the first to market products, or “contracts”, in the empty marketplace.
Users of the beta version are also warned that as Tor is not yet integrated, “your IP is visible to other nodes and is tied to the contracts you sell, purchase, or notarize.”
