Bitcoin received immense support from the world’s richest individuals this year. Individuals, such as Elon Musk to Ray Dalio, supported the crypto asset through large investments. The list of BTC believers saw another addition recently when Ricardo Salinas Pliego, one of the richest people in Mexico, advised investors to buy Bitcoin.

The Founder and Chairman of Grupo Salinas expressed his concerns about the rising global inflation and money printing from central banks. According to an estimate, the total wealth of Salinas Pliego currently stands at around $13 billion.

“Steer clear of fiat money. Whether it’s the Dollar, the Euro, or the Yen. It’s all the same. It is fake money made of paper lies. Central banks are producing more than ever. Invest in Bitcoin,” the Mexican billionaire said.

Through his Twitter profile, Salinas told his 1 million followers that he is holding Bitcoin. In the past, Salinas expressed his support for innovative technologies, including blockchain and DLT. In his opinion, fiat money is losing its credibility.

Bitcoin Plan

Earlier this year, the Mexican billionaire announced his plan to increase the adoption of BTC in the country. In a response to Michael Saylor’s statement about Bitcoin holding, Salinas said that his bank is working on the possibility of accepting BTC in Mexico.

“If you are hoping to preserve your wealth for a generation, Ricardo Salinas suggests you invest in BTC. The strategy is simple, choose the highest quality asset you can find and hold,” Saylor said.

“Sure, I recommend the use of Bitcoin, and me and my bank are working to be the first bank in Mexico to accept Bitcoin, if you need more details or information follow me on my Twitter account,” Salinas responded.

MicroStrategy, Meitu, Tesla and Square added BTC to their portfolios in large amounts during the first half of 2021.
