AMC Theatres, one of the biggest movie theater chains globally, is reportedly considering adding Shiba Inu (SHIB) as one of its means of payment for ticket purchases. During a poll published on Twitter, its CEO, Adam Aron, is asking people if the company should add the meme coin or not.

“As you know, you can now purchase AMC gift cards using cryptocurrency, and our IT group is writing code so that soon we can accept online Payments in Bitcoin , Ethereum, Litecoin and Dogecoin among others. Should we strive to take Shiba Inu too?” the executive said. One of the answers among the four options says, “No, you have enough choice,” suggesting that the chain could be open to adding other cryptos.

Previously, Aron unveiled another Twitter poll where he asked people about the possibility of adding Dogecoin (DOGE), a survey that even caught the attention of Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX. Originally, DOGE was expected to be added as a means of payment next year, although there is no information on whether the plans are still going ahead or not.

SHIB's Market Cap

So far, SHIB has witnessed impressive gains across the board, currently hovering around $0.000073, pocketing huge profits that had been replicated in its rival DOGE amid the latest take-profit action. As a result, SHIB’s market cap has jumped above leading digital assets, including Chainlink (LINK), Litecoin (LTC) and Bitcoin Cash (BCH).

The overall market sentiment around SHIB has been positive since the start of 2021. The meme token remained the best-performing digital asset among the top 20 during the first 9 months of 2021. Retail interest is mainly driving the latest SHIB rally, but some leading institutional investors have started considering Shiba Inu as a good tool for portfolio diversification.

Celebrities like Jason Derulo shouted out recently that they are SHIB holders, hinting at a high interest towards the Shiba Inu coin from a mainstream perspective.
