At a joint press conference last Friday at the St. Petersburg Museum of History, which started accepting Bitcoin, BitPay announced its 3-year sponsorship deal of the event with ESPN.
A number of events have been recently held in an effort to get local businesses to start accepting Bitcoin. At one, representatives from the Tampa Bay Lightning and Tampa Bay Buccaneers were present. A number of local businesses have already begun to accept Bitcoin, in preparation for the anticipated flood of Bitcoiners attending the event.
