Equiti Group, a provider of online trading technology and multi-asset financial products, has appointed Ahmad Qutaishat as its new Vice President of Sales. Qutaishat, who announced his new role on LinkedIn, was previously a Senior Manager at the brokerage firm.

The executive brings about a decade of sales and account management experience to the new position. He joined Equiti Group in Jordan in October 2018 as a Client Support Officer and rose through the ranks to become a Senior Account Manager in October 2020.

In September 2022, he left Jordan to join Equiti Group in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, in the same capacity as a Senior Account Manager. He managed the role for seven months until his promotion to Sales Vice President.

Aside from Equiti Group, Qutaishat over the course of his career has so far worked in the non-financial industry as a Marketing Director and Corporate Account Manager. According to his LinkedIn profile, the executive started out as a Sales Representative at the wellness brand C-Products in March 2014.

Previously, Equiti Group hired Christoffer Nielsen, a former Chief Information Officer at Euronext Securities, as its new Chief Technology Officer. The broker tasked Nielsen with leading its global technology strategy by facilitating “a strong engineering culture” across its organization.

Equiti Group Expands Business

In November, Equiti Group launched an office in Cyprus, marking its 10th local office across the world. The launch came one month after the broker secured its 8th regulatory license from the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission. In addition, the broker hired Hesham Hasanin as the CEO of Equiti Global Markets, the Cypriot subsidiary granted the license.

The firm described the license as a “significant milestone in its ambitious global growth strategy.” With the license, Equiti Group is able to extend its business-to-business offering to clients in Europe, noted Iskandar Najjar, the Group CEO.

Furthermore, early last year, the broker secured an over-the-counter derivatives and forex spot markets license from the UAE Securities and Commodities Authority to further strengthen its presence in the Middle East.
