OctaFX has just become the latest broker to engage in a sponsorship deal with a British Premier League football club. The brokerage has officially announced a partnership with Southampton F.C., which finished seventh in the championship last season.

The company is aiming at the European markets with a sponsorship deal which will make it the official retail Forex trading partner of the football club. The deal entails the company getting permission to use the club’s brand and players in ads and co-branded events, as the well as the right to use SH brand.

After obtaining a regulatory license from the U.K. Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) earlier this year in April, OctaFX is beginning to build its brand in Europe. The company has been incorporated in Saint Vincent and Grenadines and was for the most part targeting the APAC market, before applying for an FCA license to build a global brand.

OctaFX has already been actively engaged in sports sponsorship, albeit those have been mostly targeted at the Indonesian market. A company spokesperson shared with Finance Magnates' reporters that OctaFX has a wide client base from APAC, and the new partnership with Southampton F.C. is aimed at establishing the brand in Europe.

Commenting on the Indonesian sponsorship the spokesperson said, “We have sponsored the Bali Sports Foundation and football club Mitra Kukar to help with our branding in Indonesia. While this partnership is aimed at the rest of the world, we’ll be more than happy if our Indonesian customers are engaged in our newest promotions.”
