With operations in the United Kingdom, Singapore, and the United States, Startupbootcamp FinTech today announced its Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR) program for New York, after the company unveiled the top 10 fintech startups to join its 13-week accelerator program in the state earlier this week.

Startupbootcamp FinTech is supported by a diverse group of partners such as financial services companies and technology providers, including investment banks and venture capital firms and mentors across 50 countries, which together aid its influence in helping startup firms refine their ideas and bring their fintech solutions to market.

Innovation often arises from working shoulder to shoulder with individuals from a diverse array of backgrounds and experiences...

Blockchain in focus

As part of the New York EIR program, a Blockchain-focused technology firm named Fluent - that had previously completed Startupbootcamp’s accelerator program - will be made available to the 10 firms under current acceleration in an effort to provide guidance and support as the firms compete over the 13-week period.

With offices in Kentucky, Missouri, and California, Fluent has developed a suite of products for its financial operating network for global commerce built on Blockchain technology, and closed its pre-seed financing round at the end of last year with participation from Thomson Reuters, United Missouri Bank (UMB), and Draper Associates.

As a post-accelerated company and EIR, Fluent will be able to offer its perspective to the 10 competing firms, and in return it will receive support from Startupbootcamp for helping the firms currently under acceleration.

In addition to the entrepreneurs from Fluent, there are four experts in residence that were announced for the New York program, including David Williams, ex-Managing Director of S&P Capital IQ, Rak Chugh, Director of Byte Academy, Firat Parlak, founder of Awesome, and Jason Henrichs, a longtime venture capitalist and mentor for startups.

“We are extremely excited not only to be in the company of this fantastic group of industry professionals and mentors, but also to provide guidance to other entrepreneurs in our nascent industry,” said Casey Lawlor, co-founder and Director of Marketing at Fluent.

Lending a helping hand

Mr. Lawlor added: “Innovation often arises from working shoulder to shoulder with individuals from a diverse array of backgrounds and experiences, and we can’t wait to bounce ideas off the talented teams and members of Startupbootcamp NY.”

“Our teams want as much exposure to great companies as possible,” said Jesse Podell, Managing Director of Startupbootcamp FinTech New York, commenting in the official press release. “We are excited to have a team like Fluent who can not only provide value to the other teams, but also help increase our profile as a go-to program for Bitcoin and Blockchain companies that are working on real solutions for the financial enterprise and beyond. We also believe that our local network of mentors and partners are excited that we are helping companies of different stages of growth and elevating the New York City fintech startup ecosystem.”
