Monday, January 16

Tom Gillie

Tom Gillie, Société Générale

Société Générale appointed Tom Gillie as Head of FX Options and FX Spot Trading. He will be based out of London and joins the company at a time of extended expansion of the French bank’s foreign Exchange team. Société Générale has hired several key sales and trading staff recently.

Trent Beacroft, FastMatch

Trent Beacroft joined FastMatch’s Fx team in Singapore as its Managing Director of Sales. Assuming his new position, Trent will manage and drive sales opportunities across hedge funds, banks, brokers and asset managers segments in Asia. He will be tasked with further developing Singapore’s sales potential within top tier institutions throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Derek West, DTCC

The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) added regulatory specialist Derek West as its newest Executive Director and Chief Compliance Officer. In his new role at DTCC, Mr. West will be a constituent of the group’s European Global Trade Repository (GTR) business.

Julie Rochette, Montreal Exchange

TMX Group on-boarded Julie Rochette as the Vice President (VP) and Chief Regulatory Officer of the Regulatory Division of the Montréal Exchange. Ms. Rochette originally joined the Montréal Exchange in October 2015 and has since served as its Director, Enforcement and Legal Counsel in the Regulatory Division. Her promotion follows on the heels of a recent move that saw Brian Gelfand take up a new role as the Chief Commercial Officer for CDS and CDCC.

Chris Hansen – Non-Executive Director at ADS SECURITIES LONDON LIMITED

ADS Securities London Limited, a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi-based broker ADS Securities, secured Chris Hansen as its newest non-executive director. He has joined the FCA-regulated firm’s board as an accomplished financial technology professional with senior level experience in financial services and technology.

Michael Eilert, Credit Suisse

Credit Suisse Group AG hired a new head of US par loan trading from Deutsche Bank, hoping to reinvigorate its US leveraged finance trading business. The bank hired Michael Eilert who co-led US loan trading at Deutsche Bank AG with William Dobson until February 2016, when Dobson left the company and Eilert became sole head of the group.

Aitan Goelman, CFTC

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) on Thursday announced that Enforcement Director Aitan Goelman will leave the agency on February 3, 2017. The departures of Mr. Goelman and several Wall Street overseers come as President-elect Donald Trump prepares to fill out his incoming administration.

Leo Civitillo, Morgan Stanley

Morgan Stanley made a new promotion to its fixed-income unit Thursday elevating Leo Civitillo to the role of Global Head of Fixed Income Capital Markets, following over a decade with the lender. Mr. Civitillo originally joined Morgan Stanley back in 2004 as a Managing Director, focusing on the fixed-income underwriting and derivatives space.

Mark McLain and Peter Heller, Mizuho Americas

Mizuho Americas last week made a series of new hires to its US equity platform, expanding the focus of the unit to the utilities and energy sectors. Mark McLain and Peter Heller will be brought in to serve as managing directors across the utilities and energy space – in this capacity they will be reporting to Eric Shenker, Managing Director and Head of Equity Trading at Mizuho Americas.
